Scrap Parking Charges in Broxtowe

Anna Soubry met with Beeston residents from Grange Avenue and Dovecote Lane to discuss the effects and impact of the car parking charges that have been introduced at Foster Avenue Car Park.

Residents talked to Anna about how their once quite residential roads have become an extension of Beeston’s parking facilitie since the new parking charges were introduced in June.

Mother of two, Stella Tarr, explained how she frequently encountered problems while taking her six-month-old son for walks in his pram. “People park on the pavement at West End and do not leave any space for buggies to get past. The junctions aren’t safe for young children.”

Anna said, “ charges mean workers are parking in the residential roads because they do not want to spend £15 a week on parking. The charges should never have been introduced.”
