Anna Soubry met with Beeston residents from Grange Avenue and Dovecote Lane to discuss the effects and impact of the car parking charges that have been introduced at Foster Avenue Car Park.

Stapleford Walk-in Centre under threat

Stapleford Walk-in Centre under threat

Thursday, 16 September, 2010

Nottinghamshire PCT have announced that their “preferred option” is to close the Stapleford Walk-In Centre and move the service to the Accident and Emergency Department at the QMC . Under the last Government Notts PCT had budget retraints which means they must make savings of £80 million in the next two years. The PCT believe it makes monetary and clinical sense to improve services at the QMC by offering a walk in centre there rather than continue the service in Stapleford.

In a surprise move Broxtowe Borough Council has cut the grass on all the open spaces at the Chetwynd Barracks Development .... and emptied the bins. But residents of the Chetwynd Barracks development are still waiting for a date when the work will begin and a date when it is anticipated the work will be complete. The solicitor for the builders consortium has told Anna Soubry he believes the work will be completed in five months.

Hello again,

I have received the following from the builders, William Davis:

“ The Sewer CCTV survey and jetting works should commence on Monday next week and take approximately a week to complete. After this the company requires a few days to compile the report for us.

Once we have the report, we will be able to meet with a representative from Severn Trent Water to discuss any remedials that may be required to the Sewer pipes and also carry out a manhole inspection to check for any defects in these that will also need to be rectified.”

Chetwynd Barracks - at last, a start and end date

This afternoon I chaired a meeting with the builders, officers from Broxtowe Borough Council and the leader of the Council, Cllr. David Watts.

As a result of our discussions the builders have undertaken to start work on the pavements and other “off road” work that needs to be completed, repaired or begun, on December 6th.

They have also provided a start time for the work on the roads - the New Year and anticipate that on the basis the weather doesn’t do a repeat performance of last January, that the work will be completed by the end of February.
