Anna Soubry MP opens Greasley's Christmas Victorian Market

St Mary's church in Greasley hosts an annual Victorian Christmas Market which was opened this year by local MP Anna Soubry. There is a rich mix of stalls all with a seasonal theme and stall holders and organisers wear Victorian costumes. Proceedsfrom the raffle and a number of stalls go to St Mary's one of the loveliest churches in Broxtowe.

"I have been coming to the Victorian Market for the last few years and seen it grow in popularity. There was a long queue outside this morning so we got on and opened the event quickly."

 Nottinghamshire brewery Blue Monkey has celebrated its fourth birthday by scooping an unprecedented five gold medals and three silver medals in a major brewing awards hosted by the Nottingham Beer Festival.  Included in the medal haul was the coveted title of ‘SIBA Champion Beer of the Midlands’ for their beer ‘Big Blue’.

Broxtowe MP, Anna Soubry presented the prizes at the first Kimberley Book Read event today in Kimberley Library.

The day long celebration of creative writing and reading was organised by Gloria Morgan. It included a book worm parade by children from Larkfields Infants and Juniors.

Anna Soubry and Gloria Morgan presented the winning prize to Alan Dance for his novel "Leen Times" set in Nottingham in the 1820's.
