Heritage Open Days 2012

Further events taking place locally including:

Beeston Heritage Trail- Beeston town centre for 'beginners', The Podium, Beeston Square, Beeston, NG9 2FY, 2:30pm
A walk designed primarily for newcomers to Beeston and those who have not ventured very far. The walk covers 2 miles and should take an hour and a half. It begins and ends in the square, and will take in the structure of Beeston centre, with a brief walk along the High Road towards Chilwell, then north up Wollaton Road to take in the remaining mills, east along the High Road and back to the square.

Nottingham Casuals Rugby Club Minis' Open Day

Boys and Girls aged between 5 and 12 are invited to attend the free open day for the rugby club at Canalside, Meadow Road, Beeston Rylands, NG9 1JQ.

Beeston Parish Church Bellringers, St John the Baptist Parish Church Bell Tower, Beeston, NG9 2JJ. 10:00am-12noon

Climb the spiral stairs, see the bells, meet the ringers and find out about bell ringing.

G H Hurt & Son Ltd: The Shawl Factory, 65 High Road, Beeston, NG9 4AJ, 9:00am-1:00pm

Come and see both large modern and rare historic lace-knitting machines in action and have a go at hand-finishing a shawl in the traditional Shetland way.

Line Dance and Hog Roast organised by Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Margaret Handley at Beauvale, New Road, Moorgreen on Saturday 8th September between 7.00pm and 11.00pm.

Join the parade from Bessell Lane at 12.30pm to the Carnival Site on Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground, to join the Official Opening Party at around 1.00pm.

Proms in the Park

The seventh proms in the park will return to the Bandstand at Dovecote Lane Recreation Ground.

The Alan Johnson singers will perforn from 7:00pm to 8:00pm and the Ratby Co-operative Brass Band will take to the stage from 8:20pm-9:00pm and 9:20pm-10:00pm, with a firework finale at 10:00pm.
