Anna Soubry MP: "Death of Stapleford Man Could Have Been Prevented"

Anna Soubry, Member of Parliament for Broxtowe, has said the killing of Stapleford man John McGrath could and should have been prevented. John was killed by his grandson, William Barnard, who was suffering from a mental illness and was supposedly in the care of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust.

The controversial extension of the Nottingham into Broxtowe has received the final go ahead. Work can now begin on constructing the line through Beeston, Chilwell and ending at Toton. Complusory purchase orders have already been issued to householders along the route in Chilwell and to traders in parts of Beeston.

“I have emailed everyone who asked me to support a debate on fair fuel prices explaining why I am backing the motion” said Anna. “The motion calls on the Government to look at introducing a price stabilisation mechanism to stop the fluctuating cost of fuel.”
