Anna Soubry backs Beeston Greening Group

The local Beeston Greening Campaign has beaten strong competition to win a grant of £5,050 from Climate East Midlands for a community renewable energy project in Beeston, which includes expert support from Nottingham Energy Partnership.  The funding will help identify and develop a community renewable energy site, in consultation with Beeston residents.  Now the group is bidding for money to buy the renewable energy tech

Anna Soubry joins Bramcote Hills Primary on their Golden Jubliee

Anna Soubry has visited Bramcote Hills primary school today to join them in celebrating the school’s Golden Jubilee.

Anna joined the Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, Cllr Keith Walker and Mayor of Broxtowe, Cllr Jackie Williams for a tree planting ceremony. 

Anna gave a short speech where she thanked pupils, both past and present, the teaching staff and Head Teacher Andrew Pearson.

Anna Soubry Welcomes Castle College Merger

Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry has welcomed the merger of Castle College and South Nottingham College.  Castle was a merger of various Colleges in the Nottingham area including Broxtowe College in Beeston and the Arthur Mee Centre in Stapleford.  Anna Said:

"I am pleased there is stability and a more secure future for Castle College" said Anna "I very much hope the Ellis Grove workshops and the Arthur Mee Centre will be kept open in what I appreciate have been difficult times for Castle College."

Anna Soubry Delighted at Government Fund to Support Broxtowe CAB

Anna Soubry, Member of Parliament for Broxtowe, has welcomed the news that money from the Government’s Big Society Transition Fund will support the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Broxtowe, which has offices in both Beeston and Eastwood (in the neighbouring Ashfield constituency). CAB Broxtowe is managed by District Manager Sue Maslowska, whose cause Anna has championed, both at local levels and with Government Ministers.

Anna opens Foxwood School Sweet Shop

Anna has opened a sweet shop, staffed by youngsters with learning difficulties, in Beeston shopping Precinct.

The shop, Sweet Dreams, offers work experience to pupils from Foxwood School, Bramcote.  The project has been funded through government money given to the school for vocational learning.
