Trent Barton 18 Bus Success!

I am pleased to confirm that we have helped to ensure that the Number 18 bus will continue to serve Beeston Rylands.

I am happy to announce that Jeff Counsell, Managing Director of Trent Barton, has confirmed that there will be no changes to the No. 18 bus in the near future. Trent Barton have “decided to continue to offer all customers the opportunity to continue to use this service in its present form and will await to consider the impact that the new tram line may have in due course.”

Thank you to all those who have contacted me about this, and I am pleased this vital service will continue to support people in the Rylands.

Y36 Update

7th July 2015

Nottinghamshire County Council have contacted me to confirm that Your Bus will launch a "brand new service called the 'Beeston Shopper' connecting residents in Chilwell with Beeston via Bramcote Avenue, Park Street and Wollaton Road. From 12th July, the Beeston Shopper will operate between Inham Road and Beeston Bus and Tram Interchange and customers will be able to purchase a through ticket that they can use on the Y36 into Nottingham.

From 12th July, the Y36 will change route and operate up to every 10 minutes along Cator Lane, High Road and Chilwell Road into Beeston Interchange and then on into Nottingham."

Your Bus also contacted me to further clarify their plans for buses in Beeston, when the new interchange opens on 12th July:

·         Y36 will contine to run through Chilwell, then via Cator Lane into the Interchange and on to Nottingham via the University and QMC.

·         X36 will be a brand new service and will run at peak times via Chilwell, Park Street & Sainsbury's and then non-stop to and from Nottingham city centre.

·         S1 will be the new Beeston Shopper bus which will run off-peak, Monday to Saturday, between approximately 09:30 and 16:00. This will serve Chilwell, Bramcote Ave, Sainsbury's and Beeston Interchange every 30 minutes during shopping hours.

Your Bus have put a timetable for all three services on their website, which you can find by clicking on the following link:
