Friends of Beeston Station continue to do excellent work to improve the station. They’ve made progress in tidying up the platforms and remain committed to their campaign to provide full access for all, which I fully support. The Government has announced £300 million to improve access on our rail network and I’ve written to the Transport Secretary Chris Grayling, making the case for Beeston station to receive the funding it needs. I’ve also written to Broxtowe Borough Council and the owners of Beeston Business Park to sort out a dispute over a very small piece of land which is hindering access to the new car park at Platform 2.
