Transport Minister Nus Ghani fulfilled her promise to visit Beeston Station and see why it needs step free access.
Anna asked Nus to visit during last year’s debate on the station which she held in Parliament. Wheelchair users have to use the steep and lengthy road bridge to change platforms as they are currently served by two steep flights of steps. The Minister met members of the Friends of Beeston Station (FOBS) who have led the campaign for step free access. Anna has supported their application to a £300 million pot made available by the Government to improve access. The Minister said to expect to hear soon whether it has been successful or not.
