People over 65, pregnant women at what are called the “at risk” groups (usually with long term health conditions like asthma) are urged to contact their GP and book their flu vaccination.
“Each year 4,700 people die of flu so it’s a serious health problem” said Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry. “Getting flu can be miserable requiring a few days in bed. But an early jab can reduce your chances of catching it”.
Health workers are also targeted in this years campaign which will see millions of people getting the seasonal flu jab.
