Anna supported Bramcote resident Tony Smith’s campaign for permanent speed cameras on the A52. The campaign was launched following the death of two young men in a collision where speed appeared to be a major factor. Anna wrote to Highways England, who manage the A52, and contacted the local police inspector Steve Wragg, who confirms his support for permanent speed cameras. Anna presented Tony Smith’s petition to Parliament on Tuesday 28th February, the petition amassed over 1,600 signatures. The Department for Transport are now reviewing the road and have agreed to write to Highways England. Following calls for a meeting with the Minister in Transport Questions in March 2017, Anna met with Jesse Norman MP and Tony Smith in July 2017. Highways England are now considering plans for the speed cameras.
