Anna Soubry welcomes final go ahead for the tram

The controversial extension of the Nottingham into Broxtowe has received the final go ahead. Work can now begin on constructing the line through Beeston, Chilwell and ending at Toton. Complusory purchase orders have already been issued to householders along the route in Chilwell and to traders in parts of Beeston.

“the works will cause huge disruption” said Anna Soubry “so it is vital people are kept fully informed”. Anna has arranged a meeting with Nottingham City Council and the tram operators “residents at Neville Sadler Court need to know what is happening and when to their home. Businesses need information about compensation and the consequences of compulsory purchase orders.”

The tram is due to begin operating in 2014 “I believe the tram provides a great opportunity to bring work and apprenticeships into Broxtowe” said Anna “I also hope we can now develop Beeston town centre and bring prosperity back to the town”.
