Anna Soubry visited the Hovis Bakery in Watnall on Friday. Over 470 people work, 7 days a week 24 hours a day at the bakery producing a huge array of breads and “breakfast goods” for Hovis and own brand supermarkets.
Hovis is under threat of being bought into by an American private equity firm according to press reports this weekend. Anna has pledged to make enquiries of Hovis’s owner Premier Foods. “Hovis are an excellent and important local emplpyer with a fine reputation for quality.” said Anna.
