Anna Soubry opened St John’s Church of England Primary School 175th anniversary celebrations.
Anna said, “It was an honour to be asked by Head Teacher, Matthew Downes, to open the event, which was a great success despite the weather!”
The day of celebrations included a Victorian School Day, a Tea Party on the playground and the unveiling of a Blue Plaque.
The Member of Parliament for Broxtowe added, “St John’s has played an important role in Stapleford for so many years and it was a pleasure to meet some of those that have been taught at St John’s during this time. I am sure that children for years to come will continue to enjoy their time at St John’s and I wish the school all the best.”
