Anna Soubry MP, Member of Parliament for Broxtowe, has called on Labour MP’s in Nottinghamshire to vote in favour of HS2 in the vote taking place in Parliament today.
Speaking of the vote, Anna said:
“Unfortunately, Labour appear to be playing party politics with this important project by refusing to reveal whether they will support the Government‘s plans.
HS2 is a great opportunity for Nottinghamshire as the East Midlands Hub Station at Toton will provide an estimated £2.2 Billion to Nottingham and Derby’s local economy; increase capacity on our overburdened rail lines and slash travel times to London, Birmingham and Leeds.
I am therefore calling on all Nottinghamshire Labour MP’s to publically state their support for this once in a lifetime opportunity to provide growth and jobs for Nottinghamshire.”
