Anna Soubry accepts petition supporting Greasley’s MUGA

Grealsey’s MUGA – a sporting area is under threat after a small number of people living next to it, complained to Broxtowe Borough Council about the noise. The area is mainly used by youngsters and has proved popular, especially with parents keen to keep their children playing sport and out of trouble. But there have been complaints about the noise from football games; as a result Broxtowe Borough Council has slapped a noise abatement order on the MUGA which is run by Grealsey Parish Council.

“A sensible compromise needs to be struck and in addition to offering to chair a public meeting I will now contact Broxtowe Borough Council to try and broker a resolution” said Anna “Great community sporting facilities like the MUGA need to be encouraged not threatened with closure.”
