Anna and Natalie Harvey welcome Nicky Morgan

Anna Soubry and Natalie Harvey welcomed Nicky Morgan, the Secretary of State for Education. Natalie, who is a Conservative Borough Council candidate for Toton and Chilwell Meadows, said “I was honoured that Anna had arranged a personal meeting for myself and Nicky, as I run an anti-bullying charity. Meeting somebody as instrumental as Nicky to listen to my views and offer support is an absolute privilege, and not a regular occurrence!”

They spoke in depth of funding and the best people to approach for such resources and then of our education system and how it supports bullied children and also how the government could support schools in doing this. They also discussed the damaging long term effects of bullying and links to mental health, as well as how important PHSE is for school children. Natalie said “I spoke about the APPG on bullying which Anna got me involved in and how that works and how future MPs can help to make more influence within the group. We also discussed family life and had a chat about life in general, I am so grateful to Anna and Nicky for providing me with this opportunity.”
